My Take – Its really unfortunate this highly anticipated film from Bollywood’s master of horror Vikram Bhatt is nothing but a big damp squib! The film follows the usual format of slasher films & starts of on a good note, with the tension building up & some eye popping 3D, the film breaks into a…song! Vikram Bhatt has done a good job of trying to innovation in Bollywood, & as evident from his previous films (Raaz Series, 1920, Haunted) he can create a particularly creepy atmosphere & use Indian folklore to bring out a new story.
But Vikram Bhatt fails to break away from the Bollywood formula of unnecessary sub plots, weird drama, dull romance, misplaced songs & an overbearing run time leading up to a headache & frustration. Performances wise Bipasha Basu is awesome as always, she has a niche of delivering in Horror movies! & Imran Abbas is probably the worst thing about this movie, he just lurks around in corners, breaks into songs & mouths one of the most idiotic lines!! He alone brings the whole tension & grip of the movie down whenever he appears on screen!! & yes surprisingly the Creature itself is the best part of this flick.
A combination of many popular comic book & Hollywood movie monsters, the CGI used is actually impressive!! From the design to the character the Creature is so interesting you end up rooting for it! While Creature 3D is a stepping stone for Bollywood in CGI department, its still one of the worst movies of the year so far & a big fail for Vikram Bhatt!!
