Scorpion Season 1 Premiere Review!!

scorpion-season-1-2014_67601413864659Synopsis – An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world.

Episode – S01E01 “Pilot”

My Take – I was surprised and dismayed by the abundance of negative reviews this show has received, really people, you’re evaluating television shows for their lack of non fiction? Seriously? Now before I talk more about the premiere, let me warn you, their are potential spoilers ahead!

PILOTThis show is not about reality; it is about relationships, and the fact that highly gifted individuals have many social and emotional problems that are unacknowledged by society and our educational systems, such as alienation and isolation and problems living in the “real world.” OK the scene with the Ferrari and the plane was ridiculous but fun. For a pilot it didn’t go too deep into the characters past as I’m sure that will play out over the rest of the episodes. Everybody wants to be special, but mostly specialty comes with a price. And the price mostly is to not really fit in. So they are a bunch of underdog geniuses with great minds, great hearts but also great normal social behavior problems.

scorpion-01-d“SCORPION”, is also probably, the best fresh idea in a long time for a TV series. Yes, it has a lot of inaccuracies, but get past that and join the idea behind a group of society inept awkward geniuses combining an improbable combination of expertise to help mankind in a way mankind doesn’t even grasp. They did blend a bit of action packed scenes to appeal to the greater audience, truth be told, the show is so good it didn’t need any of those action packed scenes. Find it wherever it is playing and watch the show. If you guys are freaks on gadgets, architecture, philosophy, behavioral sciences, strategy, science, and crappy talk., you will love it. I am crazy to see how this show develops, it has a huge potential!!
