Episode – S10E01 “Black”
My Take – This show has been around for 10 years now, WOW! Eventhough the original story arc ended by Eric Kripke ended in Season 4, well thanks to the positive ratings & huge fan base, the show has been sticking around by introducing new story arcs & interesting characters. And trust me boy have they delivered! But unfortunately Season 10 doesn’t look like its gonna maintain at least the decency of keeping things engaging! Now before I talk more about the premiere, let me warn you, their are potential spoilers ahead!
This was probably the worst premiere of any season yet! It failed to live up to the hype that the S9 finale created, no particular Arc except Dean, Sam, Crowley and Castiel have been introduced. Dean is a demon and he shows that he doesn’t care about anything, however still he doesn’t express the viciousness that a typical demon does, well its just a Dean that doesn’t care about anything or anyone (except a one night stand lover), not a Dean with a twisted soul that enjoys killing, actually he is even calmer than the Human Dean with Mark Of Cain LOL! & he is big time BFF with Crowley now, who occasionally sends demons to attack him, so that he doesn’t lose his mojo! Classic Crowley! While Sam is running around looking for Dean, to fix him! Wait haven’t we seen this before? Its always either Sam or Dean who goes to the other side & then the other one tries to & of course succeeds in bring him back, the writers really need to come up with something new!
While Castiel’s story began strange with him in a bed and Hanna showing up behind his doorsteps & weirdly they have undone all the points of the previous season; like haven’t angels return to heaven?, & aren’t they supposed to get all their grace back? then why Hanna is still walking, and riding along in a car with Castiel? While Castiel’s fading grace is killing him, however he is still an angel and doesn’t need and Cannot sleep (as he said previously about missing being a human) So how come he was sleeping in the 1st scene?
Well this was one of the most boring & illogical episode yet of Supernatural, which kinda hints that its time to head for Series finale, we will miss Sam & Dean & of course Castiel, but better end the characters than reducing them to ridicule. I hope this show picks up ASAP or time to end the adventures of the Winchester boys…
