In an interesting and novel promotional move, Akshay Kumar shared the first look of his upcoming film Naam Shabana late Monday. The actor had earlier announced that the film, a prequel to his 2015 hit Baby being directed by Neeraj Pandey, is the story of Taapsee Pannu’s character, little did we anticipate what was coming.
While Taapsee overpowers the picture with her fierce looks, Akshay is only seen in as a reflection. It is refreshing and rare to see a big Bollywood star giving space to the female lead over his own image. The movie is set to hit the screens on March 31, 2017.
Akshay announced the release date of the film on Twitter and shared the film’s first look, in which Taapsee is seen donning an Indian attire and Akshay’s reflection can be seen in the backdrop. “Get ready to see the awesomeness of Taapsee in Naam Shabana on 31st March, 2017,” Akshay captioned the first look. “This film belongs to you Baby!” he said on Monday evening, referring to Taapsee, who also has action sequences in the upcoming film.
The film has been shot in Mumbai and in Malaysia and is directed by Shivam Nair. The pair shot across famous locations of Kuala Lumpur, including the City Centre and close to the Petronas Towers.
Naam Shabana also features critically acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee and southern star Prithviraj in pivotal roles.
