What a year it has been for Bollywood films, while some films such as Sultan, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil , Rustom, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story & Airlift have been money spinners, major films such Fan, Rock On!! 2, Baar Baar Dekho, Wazir & Mohenjo Daro failed to live up to their expectations. Nevertheless, we cannot deny the fact that this year we got to see some fine range of performances from Alia Bhatt to the underrated performance of Swara Bhaskar & a surprising turn from Sonam Kapoor along with an excellent debut performance from Fatima Sana Shaikh in the recently released Dangal. The below are in the my opinion the 5 best Bollywood performances (female) of the year :

1. Alia Bhatt (Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi, Kapoor & Sons)
2. Sonam Kapoor (Neerja)
3. Anushka Sharma (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Sultan)
4. Swara Bhaskar (Nil Battey Sannata)
5. Fatima Sana Shaikh (Dangal)
