As the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets bigger, it is more and more frequently attracting some huge and well-respected Hollywood names.
The next MCU movie Thor: Ragnarok, will feature Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum, and if the latest rumour is to be believed, they won’t be alone.
The Weekly Planet podcast is reporting that a source has seen a large part of the movie, and that it includes an appearance by Matt Damon.
Damon apparently appears as Loki in a play performed in Asgard recapping the events of the previous Thor films.
The podcast is hosted by prominent YouTuber Mr Sunday Movies, which gives the rumour a bit more weight than your average MCU gossip. But we’ll still be taking this with a pinch of salt.
Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston can’t believe he’s still playing Loki, and maybe Damon could be convinced to replace him as the shapeshifting god of mischief if Hiddleston caves to the pressure…
Director Taika Waititi’s Ragnarok sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) forced to fight in an arena on an alien planet while the death goddess Hela (Blanchett) takes the opportunity to conquer Asgard.
Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba and Mark Ruffalo will also star in the movie.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on October 24 in the UK and November 3 in the US.
