‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’: New Teaser Reveals Mothra as the Queen of the Monsters!! Check It Out!!

Fans eager to see more of the kaiju/Titans from Godzilla: King of the Monsters have now received another very brief sneak peek at Mothra.

A short clip released by the Monarch Sciences Twitter account features the creature’s glowing light and hauntingly beautiful scream. The tease matches up with the first trailer, which showed Mothra in all her glowing glory. What makes this particular teaser so intriguing is the caption, which calls Mothra “Queen of the Monsters,” alluding to her being more than just a supporting beast.

A new trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters is due to arrive Sunday. Fans recently got a tease of the fire-monster Rodan flying over a town, and a brief glimpse of what seems to be the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah.

Following the global success of Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is directed by Michael Dougherty and stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi. It is scheduled to open on May 31, 2019. A sequel titled Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard, is in production and will be released May 22, 2020.
