‘The OA’ Season 2: First Trailer Makes Good on Prairie’s Promise!! Check It Out!!

The first official trailer for The OA: Part II is finally here! And a little over two years since the Netflix hit first arrived, the second season itself will be available to stream in just a few weeks. The mysterious first season left viewers hanging with a “WTF is going on, exactly?” vibe by the end of its eight-episode run, but this new trailer is a bit more clear on things. A bit, not a lot. Much of the appeal of The OA is in its philosophical ponderings and gauzy veneer of mysticism that coats the story, and this trailer captures that rather well. And even if the trailer itself isn’t super clear, the season’s new official synopsis will have your head spinning.

Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, The OA: Part II stars Marling, Jason Isaacs, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emory Cohen, Patrick Gibson, Phyllis Smith, Sharon Van Etten, Will Brill, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander, Brandon Perea, and Chloë Levine. This season’s guest stars include Paz Vega, Irene Jacob, Vincent Kartheiser, Sheila Vand, and Riz Ahmed. Look for The OA to return on Netflix starting Friday, March 22nd.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The “mind-bending” story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.
