‘Hollywood’: Ryan Murphy’s New Netflix Series Gets a Poster!! Check It Out!!

How does Ryan Murphy sleep? The prolific writer/producer/director of tons of TV series like American Horror StoryAmerican Crime Story, and The Politician has a new show coming — and we’ve got the stylish, classic poster below. Hollywood, a Netflix limited series, is available for streaming May 1.

The series, as you might expect, follows a group of dreaming actors and filmmakers trying to make it in Hollywood, California — right after World War II. It promises to dissect the dreamers who’ve given us our favorite Golden Age pieces of entertainment, and get into the nitty-gritty of marginalization, sexism, racism, corruption, and the stories behind telling stories. Murphy created the series alongside his Gleecohort Ian Brennan and fellow EPs Alexis Martin Woodall and Janet Mock. The sterling ensemble cast includes David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope, Laura Harrier, Samara Weaving, Dylan McDermott, Holland Taylor, Patti LuPone, Jim Parsons, Jake Picking, Joe Mantello, and Maude Apatow.

Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day. Provocative and incisive, HOLLYWOOD exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.

HOLLYWOOD stars David Corenswet as Jack, Darren Criss as Raymond, Jeremy Pope as Archie, Laura Harrier as Camille, Samara Weaving as Claire, Dylan McDermott as Ernie, Holland Taylor as Ellen Kincaid, Patti LuPone as Avis, Jim Parsons as Henry Willson, Jake Picking as Rock Hudson, Joe Mantello as Dick, and Maude Apatow as Henrietta. The series is Executive Produced by Co-Creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, along with Alexis Martin Woodall and Janet Mock, who also serves as a writer and a director.
