‘Minx’: First Look Images Tease HBO Max’s New Erotic Magazine Comedy!! Check It Out!!

If feminist rants are kind of your thing (New Girl fans get the reference) and you’ve also been contemplating getting curtain bangs as of late, you’re about to love HBO Max’s new comedy Minx. It follows Joyce, an earnest young feminist living in 1970s Los Angeles (played by Ophelia Lovibond) who finds an unlikely business partner in a low-rent publisher (played by Jake Johnson, who also serves as a co-executive producer on the project). They team up to create, of all things, the first erotic magazine for women.

Cosmopolitan can exclusively reveal that the show will premiere on Thursday, March 17 on HBO Max, and two new episodes will drop weekly through April 14. The first season is 10 episodes total. If you’re looking for some wardrobe inspiration, please enjoy these first-look photos from the show.

Other than Jake, who you probably know from the aforementioned New Girl, the show stars Ophelia as the lead, Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano, and Oscar Montoya.

And if you weren’t already hooked based on the premise, the show’s creative team will definitely get you there.

The show was created by Ellen Rapoport, who wrote the Netflix movie Desperados. She’s executive producing, along with Paul Feig and Dan Magnante for Feigco Entertainment. Feig directed a little movie called Bridesmaids, and Magnante executive produced criminally underrated Netflix movie Someone Great and also criminally underrated HBO Max show Love Life. Rachel Lee Goldenberg directed the pilot and is an executive producer. Ben Karlin is also an executive producer on the project.

Mark your calendars!
