‘The Razor’s Edge’: James Franco, Tommy Lee Jones to Star in New Action Thriller From Director Demian Lichtenstein, Producer Corey Large!!

LOS ANGELES, CA – (MAY 13, 2024)  James Franco (Spiderman trilogy, Milk, 127 Hours) and Tommy Lee Jones (No Country for Old Men, Lincoln, The Homesman) have been cast in the action thriller The Razor’s Edge it was announced today by producer Corey Large (Paradise City, It Follows, The November Man ex. prod.)  Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland) directs from a screenplay co-written by Lichtenstein and Vance Duplechin.

The film is executive produced by Kirk Shaw (The Hurt Locker, Papa Hemingway in Cuba, Extraction). BondIt Media Capital is financing with Matthew Helderman (Clerks III, Book of Love), Luke Taylor (Dual, Redemption Day) and Jordan Nott (Assassination, Cold Deck) are also executive producing.

Red Sea Media will be handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the upcoming Marché du Film in Cannes. Production starts June 25 in Georgia.

After a mob hitman vows to leave his deadly past behind, he faces an impossible choice when his daughter is kidnapped and the woman he loves becomes a target of the syndicate. He is forced to undertake one final, perilous mission while being pursued by an assassin even more lethal.

Corey Large is producing through his 308 Enterprises. His other production, Assassination, directed by Barry Levinson (United Artist’s Oscar winning Rain Man, New Line Cinema’s Wag The Dog, Buena Vista PicturesGood Morning Vietnam) and with an award winning cast including Academy Award-winner Al Pacino (The Irishman, The Devil’s Advocate), and BAFTA winner Shia LaBeouf (Megaopolis, Honey Boy) will begin lensing in the fall.

Academy Award nominee James Franco made his television debut starring on the short-lived fan favorite Paul Feig’s NBC comedy “Freaks and Geeks.” His performance in the TNT TV movie James Dean catapulted Franco to stardom. Since transitioning to the big screen Franco has amassed an impressive list of film credits including Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 opposite Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, City by the Sea, opposite Robert DeNiro, David Gordon Green‘s Pineapple Express opposite Seth Rogen, Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, and opposite Sean Penn in Gus Van Sant‘s Milk.

Oscar, Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe and Palme d’Or winner Tommy Lee Jones has amassed an impressive resume. He is known to audiences worldwide for his roles in the global hits The Fugitive, which earned him an Oscar and Golden Globe, Sony’s Men In Black trilogy opposite Will Smith, Warner Bros.Cobb, Paramount Vantage’s No Country For Old Men, and Disney’s Lincoln, for which he received a Best Supporting SAG Award. Jones won a Lead Actor Emmy for NBC’s “The Executioners’ Song,” and a Cannes Palme D’Or for Best Actor in Sony Pictures ClassicsThe Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which he directed. He also directed The Homesman which starred Hilary Swank.
