‘Andor’ Season 2: Felicity Jones Teases Potential Return of ‘Rogue One’ Character!!

We’re officially less than four months away from the premiere of Andor Season 2, and one of the stars of the film that spawned the franchise just gave a delightfully optimistic update on her return to the franchise. Felicity Jones, who plays the lead role of Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the movie that introduced Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), recently talked about a potential role reprisal. Erso dies at the end of Rogue One on her mission to get the Death Star plans into the hands of the Rebellion, but that doesn’t mean she can’t return in some capacity. When asked if Star Wars fans would ever see Jyn Erso again in a recent interview with Screen Rant, Jones had this to say:

“I mean, never say never. She’s a pretty badass character. Maybe she could come back as a hologram or something, which is completely possible in the Star Wars universe.”

Cassian Andor meets Jyn Erso in Rogue One; the two didn’t have a preexisting relationship before the movie, so a recurring role in Andor Season 2 that sees her work with Cassian is easy to rule out. However, the show can take the spotlight off of Cassian and his work with the budding rebellion and shine it on Jones’ Erso for a scene or two, just to give a gift to Rogue One fans who miss the character. Rogue One is well-regarded as one of the best Star Wars movies ever made, earning an 84% score from critics and an 87% rating from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and Andor earned the same audience score but turned up the heat with a 96% critics rating on the aggregate site. The film takes place just weeks before A New Hope, the first Star Wars movie that was released in 1977.

What Other Projects Has Felicity Jones Been in Lately?

If you love Felicity Jones but aren’t the biggest fan of Star Wars, don’t worry, the Oscar-nominated actor has been in plenty of other projects. Jones most recently starred alongside Mark Strong in Dead Shot, the action thriller streaming on Paramount+. She also featured alongside Joe Alwyn in The Last Letter from Your Lover, the steamy, tragic romance drama streaming on Netflix. She’s next been tapped for a role in The Brutalist, the upcoming A24 epic starring Adrien Brody and Guy Pearce that will release on December 20.

It’s unknown if Felicity Jones will reprise her role as Jyn Erso in Andor Season 2 or another Star Wars project. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates and watch Rogue One on Disney+.
