We still have to wait a little while until we can finally discover what mega-producer Kevin Feige did with the most important family in the Marvel world, so for now the studio has to keep hyping it up. Today, Entertainment Weekly unveiled a slate of new photos that provide little hints into some aspects of The Fantastic Four: First Steps and underscore that the movie is going hard at its 60s setting. The blockbuster is set to premiere in theaters on July 25.

Of course, Marvel Studios isn’t just going to spill the beans on details from the upcoming superhero movie just yet, so the images reveal moments that fans are familiar with and already imagined that the beginning of the movie would cover. They show Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), Joseph Quinn (A Quiet Place: Day One) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) wearing their astronaut suits as they prepare for the life-changing mission that (as far as we know) transforms them into superheroes.

At the same time, we shouldn’t let the similarities between some of the images fool us. The astronaut suits depict two different moments in the movie — in one particular image, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pascal) is looking at astronaut suits with Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and this time they all bear the big number 4 at the waist. One of them is significantly larger to accommodate Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) and you can easily tell that Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby) and Johnny’s suits have different textures. In a different image, Reed Richards is wearing an astronaut suit with a “4” on its left arm, which might suggest that the family of superheroes will at some point go back to space after acquiring their powers.

Marvel is understandably staying mum about details from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, since this is one of the studio’s most anticipated releases from the last five years. What we do know at this point is that the movie will take place in a retro-futuristic 1960s and that it’s a different timeline than we’ve seen over the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. We still don’t know how the story will connect with every other Marvel movie, but it’s safe to say that the team will jump into the multiverse at some point.

The cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps also features Julia Garner (Apartment 7A) as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson (The Witch) as Galactus, as well as Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai), Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso) and John Malkovich (Opus) in undisclosed roles. We also don’t know if any Marvel characters are making cameos in the blockbuster movie.
