Get those cosmos ready, polish up the Manolo Blahniks and cover sensitive ears around you. And just like that… we have our first look at the third season of the Sex and the City spin-off from HBO and Max, along with a release date — and the good news is that we don’t have much longer to wait. Season 3 of And Just Like That officially sashays onto our screens on May 29, bringing back the Manhattan chaos, couture, and complex convos that Carrie Bradshaw and co. made iconic.

The announcement came with a sneak peek at the new season, showing off big changes, bigger emotions, and — of course — plainly ridiculous fashion. It’s the beginning of a new chapter, with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) returning to her voiceover roots, literally writing a new book and giving audiences a more intimate glimpse into her world than ever before. But my god, look at all the shoes.

The series also brings back Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon as Charlotte and Miranda, although Sara Ramírez (Che Diaz) and Karen Pittman (Nya Wallace) will not be returning, mercifully in the case of Che who was one of the most insufferable characters in all of television. New cast members include Patti LuPone, Kristen Schaal, Rosie O’Donnell, Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, and Logan Marshall-Green.

Season 3 of ‘And Just Like That’ Takes “Big Swings”

Parker revealed, during an appearance at the 2024 Red Sea Film Festival, that the series would be taking a new direction for Season 3, including what she referred to as big narrative swings, adding that some male characters we’ve become familiar with would be returning, along with some new faces to add some fire and spice to the lives of the leading ladies.

“There are so many interesting stories with additional characters that rightfully find a real home. There is growth with new faces. Carrie has a wonderful storyline. The story takes some big swings and we fold some big ideas into those big swings. Some of the male characters are back, and there are some new men.”

The season will also see Carrie and Miranda moving into new apartments, reflecting the show’s theme of “new everything.” While Kim Cattrall made a brief cameo as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale, she has confirmed that she will not be returning for Season 3, to the devastation of millions who felt her appearance was the highlight of the show.
