‘Superman’: James Gunn Reveals New Look at Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen!! Check It Out!!

James Gunn has revealed a new look at Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo) in the upcoming Superman. In the comic books that inspired the upcoming movie, the character is known for working at the Daily Planet, where he becomes a loyal friend to Clark Kent (David Corenswet) and a massive fan of the Kryptonian hero. Gunn can be seen standing next to Gisondo in the new image. The pair are discussing something on the set of the highly-anticipated summer blockbuster that will attempt to launch the DC Universe on the big screen. Jimmy Olsen will be one of several Daily Planet employees who will be featured in the movie.

Superman will see Clark Kent attempting to balance his life as a journalist and as one of the protectors of the planet. As one of the most powerful heroes in the entire DC Universe, Superman will have the responsibility of saving as many lives as possible, even if people don’t like him that much. Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) will be a major villain who will do whatever it takes to take Superman down. Before being cast as the iconic DC antagonist, Hoult auditioned for the role of Clark Kent for this movie and for the role of Bruce Wayne in Matt ReevesThe Batman.

James Gunn will attempt to launch the new DC Universe on the big screen with Superman. The director worked with Marvel Studios for years, tackling the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy over the course of a decade. Warner Bros. has hired Gunn to build the new DC Universe alongside Peter Safran. DC Studios is already working on the development of movies such as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Clayface. Superman needs to be successful at the global box office in order to set the stage for what’s to come for the brand.

Jimmy Olsen’s Return to the Big Screen

Skyler Gisondo will join an extensive legacy thanks to his performance as Jimmy Olsen in Superman. The character previously appeared in Smallville, where he was portrayed by Aaron Ashmore. Jimmy Olsen was seen on live-action television once again when he was played by Mehcad Brooks in Supergirl. The most recent live-action iteration of the character was introduced in Superman & Lois. Douglas Smith was the actor responsible of bringing the journalist to life in the television show. Audiences are about to discover what will make Skyler Gisondo‘s portrayal of Jimmy Olsen different from what has come before him.

Superman premieres in theaters on July 11.
