‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 Gets a New BTS Image!! Check It Out!!

It’s John Cena‘s birthday, and James Gunn knows exactly how to celebrate. The filmmaker has released a new image from the set of the second season of Peacemaker. The popular television series will return at the end of the summer for the official inclusion of John Cena‘s protagonist to the new DC Universe. James Gunn and John Cena have been working together over the course of many years at this point. The acclaimed professional wrestler is slowly climbing up the ladder in the entertainment industry while he gets ready to say goodbye to his time in the ring.

The set image shows John Cena and James Gunn comfortably standing as they turned the next installment of Christopher Smith’s story into a reality. It’s been more than three years since the first season of Peacemaker premiered on Max. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of the character who will achieve peace by any violent means necessary. Peacemaker was introduced in The Suicide Squad, the sequel James Gunn directed after Marvel Studios temporarily determined that the artist wouldn’t work on Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3. Gunn enjoyed working on crafting the character alongside Cena to the point where the pair came up with ideas for the television spinoff.

The first season of Peacemaker depicted John Cena‘s protagonist getting to the bottom of an alien conspiracy that concluded with the reveal that Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) was actually a member of the Butterflies. At the same time, Peacemaker had to fight against his own father. The White Dragon (Robert Patrick) was determined to spread his hateful ideology to the rest of the world through violence. Thankfully to everyone involved, Peacemaker was more than ready to confront the wounds of his past.

Becoming Part of a New Universe

The second season of Peacemaker will allow Christopher Smith to become a part of the DC Universe James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently building for Warner Bros. The character was originally introduced in the DC Extended Universe, the franchise that included stories such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman 1984. That is about to change. Peacemaker will now be a part of the world connected to the upcoming Superman and Clayface. It’s a new a era of storytelling for James Gunn, and the filmmaker is ready to bring one of his favorite DC characters along for the ride.

The second season of Peacemaker premieres on Max on August 21.
