‘The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth’: ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ Sequel Title Potentially Revealed!!

It was announced at the start of April that David Fincher had been tapped to direct a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, and now the film just got a major update. Deadline recently sat down for an interview with Michael B. Jordan for his new movie, Sinners, and buried in the report was the claim that the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel will reportedly be titled The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth. This news lines up with the initial report that the sequel will be focused on Brad Pitt’s character, Cliff Booth, and would likely only feature Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton in a small role, if at all. The sequel is in the works at Netflix and aims to begin filming this summer in California.

The 2019 showbiz drama is the subject of Brad Pitt’s only Oscar win for a performance in his career, despite being nominated three other times for his roles in 12 Monkeys, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Moneyball. In addition to netting Pitt an award for his performance, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood also took home the Oscar for Best Production Design, and it was nominated in eight other categories including Best Picture, Best Directing (Tarantino), Best Lead Actor (DiCaprio), Best Original Screenplay (Tarantino), Best Cinematography (Robert Richardson), Best Costume Design (Arianne Phillips), Best Sound Mixing (Michael Minkler), and Best Sound Editing (Wylie Stateman). In addition to Pitt and DiCaprio, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood also stars Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Margaret Qualley (The Substance).

Brad Pitt Takes His Shot at a Major Blockbuster This Summer

Pitt’s most recent role came starring opposite George Clooney in Wolfs, the Apple TV+ original movie, but his next project comes in the form of a bigger blockbuster. Pitt will star as Sonny Hayes in F1, the motorsports’ drama due in theaters on June 27. The film comes from director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), and trailers paint it as a gripping experience drenched in realism, similar to Tom Cruise’s 2022 aviation epic. F1 also stars Oscar-winner Javier Bardem, along with Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, and Sarah Niles. Kosinski also wrote the screenplay with Ehren Kruger.

The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel plans to begin production this summer but does not have an official release date.
