‘The Old Guard 2’: First Images Tease the Upcoming Sequel!! Check It Out!!

Netflix has officially released the first batch of images for The Old Guard 2, which is coming to the platform on July 2. The new images from the film show returning star Charlize Theron alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and other members of the cast, such as Henry Golding, Uma Thurman, and Matthias Schoenaerts. Both films in the franchise are based on the popular graphic novel series by Greg Rucka, who also wrote the screenplay for the first movie, which Gina Prince-Bythewood directed. Sarah L. Walker has been tapped to write the script for the sequel, with Victoria Mahoney directing. It’s now been more than five years since The Old Guard hit Netflix, and while it has certainly taken some time, fans can now get excited about the sequel, which is just a few months away from release. The Old Guard tells the story of a group of immortal warriors who have protected the planet for centuries. But when their abilities are exposed, they must work together to eliminate the dangerous threat. The Old Guard 2 will follow Andy (Theron) and her warriors with a new sense of purpose in their mission to protect the world. Booker (Schoenaerts) is still in exile after his betrayal, and Quynh (Veronica Ngô) is out for revenge after escaping from prison. The crew must work with Tuah (Golding) to find the key to their immortal existence.

Both installments in Gerard Butler’s Den of Thieves franchise are currently streaming on Netflix, and Taylor Sheridan’s Sicario and its sequel, Day of the Soldado. Lining up in the top spot in the Netflix top 10 at the time of writing is American Sniper, the war biopic directed by Clint Eastwood that details the life of Chris Kyle. Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen movie and its spin-off series led by Theo James are also streaming on Netflix, along with Logan Lucky, the heist movie starring Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig. Fans can also watch Triple Frontier starring Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal on Netflix.
