With less than a month until the premiere of the highly anticipated Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, it’s high time that we saw a trailer for it. This is why Hulu decided to finally unveil it today and provide a deeper dive into the kind of story that we can expect to see this time around. Nicole Kidman (Babygirl) returns as the mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko, who promises to transform the lives of a group of people at a wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. The new season debuts on May 21, and you can check out the trailer in this article.
The trailer welcomes nine new characters that have been carefully selected to isolate themselves in one of the coldest spots in the world. Masha now means business with her hair, and if the trailer is any indication, she will pull at no stops to terrorize (or heal?) the lives of every guest. This means giving them all sorts of substances to open their eyes and their minds and eventually making them realize that they are not there by chance. Do they know each other? Do they have a connection? We will have to watch the series to find out.
The star-studded cast of the new season of Nine Perfect Strangers features Christine Baranski (The Gilded Age), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Henry Golding (Another Simple Favor), Lena Olin (Hunters), Lucas Englander (The Day of the Jackal), Dolly de Leon (Jackpot!), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Wolf Hall), Aras Aydin (Runaway) and Mark Strong (Dune: Prophecy).
‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Has Huge Expectations To Meet
Fans have waited four years for a new season of Nine Perfect Strangers, which means they are more than excited to check out the new episodes. Back when the series debuted, it quickly became an instant hit and Hulu‘s most-watched original series at the time. Now, the story has the potential to be even more popular, because even fans of the best-selling novel of the same name by author Liane Moriarty have no idea what is going to happen. Season 1 adapted the story of the novel, while the upcoming episodes cover new territory — starting with the new location.
The freezing-cold setting will certainly serve as a significant element in the new season of Nine Perfect Strangers, since isolation in cold places tends to create intense stories — and the new trailer underscores that. Kidman herself executive produces the series along with series creator David E. Kelley (The Lincoln Lawyer). Kelley shares showrunning duties with John-Henry Butterworth (The Agency).
Hulu debuts Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers with two episodes, with the remaining six episodes rolling out on Wednesdays through July 2. You can check out the trailer above.
