‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Adds Anthony Michael Hall!!

Just one week after the trailer debuted, the folks behind Wednesday have announced another addition to the cast. The latest performer to join ranks with Jenna Ortega in what will be the second season of the hit Netflix series is Anthony Michael Hall, who returns to the spooky scary genre following his 2021 appearance in David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills. Those in the know will spot a reunion brewing between the newly added actor and the show’s executive producer and director, Tim Burton, as the pair previously worked alongside one another on the filmmaker’s iconic 1990 film, Edward Scissorhands. Hall’s role on Wednesday remains undisclosed at this time.

Since 2022, audiences have been waiting for the continuation story that follows the Addams Family’s daughter as she strikes out on her own to Nevermore Academy. This time around, she won’t be completely by herself, as her younger brother and her favorite torturee, Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), will get some more screen time as he joins his sister at her learning institution. From what we’ve seen and heard so far, we know that Wednesday (Ortega) will be aiding Tyler (Hunter Doohan) in a jailbreak situation and that Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) will be ab fab in the role of Grandmama.

Coming back for more dastardly action with a big helping of family values are Catherine Zeta-Jones (Entrapment) and Luis Guzman (Carlito’s Way) as Morticia and Gomez Addams, respectively, with Fred Armisen (Portlandia) also returning as Uncle Fester. This season will also include performances from Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (Penny Dreadful), and the mother monsters herself, Lady Gaga.

‘Wednesday’s New Blast From the Past

When one thinks about teen-angled cinema in the 1980s, Anthony Michael Hall’s face will undoubtedly be one of the images to pop up. A card-carrying member of the Brat Pack, Hall appeared in a slew of classics by director John Hughes, including Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science. As mentioned at the top, he went on to work with Tim Burton in the early 90s on Edward Scissorhands and has continued to enjoy plenty of on-screen opportunities in the years since. These days, Hall’s name has become synonymous with the action-packed worlds of Bosch: Legacy and Reacher, where he’s largely and successfully moved his career from feature-length productions to episodic installments.

Broken into two parts, the first half of the sophomore season will make its grand debut on August 6 with the second to follow on September 3.
