‘Resident Alien’ Season 4 Trailer Has Harry Imprisoned!! Check It Out!!

Fans can finally rest easy knowing the fourth season of Alan Tudyk‘s sci-fi dramedy, Resident Alien, is returning. The show faced a grim future after Season 3, but its fate changed. Syfy has set the return date for June 6. The new season also sees a slight release change. New episodes will be simulcast on two NBCUniversal networks, with USA Network joining Syfy to get the show in front of viewers. This was one of the compromises made to ensure the show returns for another season, apart from the budget cuts that were instituted. Apart from the live airing, new episodes will be available to stream on Peacock a week after their on-air debut. The season’s trailer has also been released, previewing the events where Patience faces a new threat while Harry finds himself in captivity. The official synopsis for the season reads:

The fourth season starts with Harry (Tudyk) and his baby Bridget stuck in prison on the Grey Moonbase, while a shape-shifting Alien called a Mantid (also Tudyk) has taken over his body on Earth, passing himself off as the real Harry Vanderspeigle. Harry manages to escape the Greys and arrives back on Earth for a showdown with the Mantid Alien, but soon finds he may not have what he needs to finish the job. Asta (Sara Tomko) and D’arcy (Alice Wetterlund) struggle to keep a secret from Ben (Levi Fiehler) and Kate (Meredith Garretson), who are both desperate to find answers to what has been happening to them. Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) attempt to solve some mysterious deaths in Patience that Sheriff Mike is beginning to think aren’t caused by anything human.

Harry Loses His Alien Mojo in ‘Resident Alien’ Season 4 Trailer

The trailer above previews the events teased by the season’s description. At Grey Moonbase, Harry has been imprisoned, but he rests in the comfort of hoping that everyone will see Mantid for what he is when he fails to pass as Harry in the real world. No one bats an eye despite the Mantid’s quirks, given Harry has his quirks too. However, those who know and love Harry the most notice that something is wrong with the Harry they know. He manages to escape Grey Moonbase, but his problems don’t end there. “The Greys have implanted an inhibitor in me blocking me from inhibiting my true form,” he reveals. Without his alien powers, will Harry be able to protect the town and those he cares about from the ever-increasing threats?

Tudyk, Tomko, Wetterlund, Reynolds, Bowen, Fiehler, Garretson, and Judah Prehn return for Season 4 as series regulars. Tudyk makes his television directorial debut helming the first two episodes of the season. Additionally, Gary Farmer, Gracelyn Awad Rinke, Jenna Lamia, Sarah Podemski, Linda Hamilton, Enver Gjokaj, Terry O’Quinn, and Edi Patterson return for Season 4 alongside new guest stars Jewel Staite and Stephen Root.

Watch the Resident Alien Season 4 premiere when the show returns on Friday, June 6, on Syfy and USA Network.
