‘Cupertino’: ‘Elsbeth’ Creators Are Working on a New Drama Series!!

Robert and Michelle King have been great partners with CBS and CBS Studios for years. The couple has worked together on numerous projects throughout the years, with Elsbeth being their latest one airing on the network. CBS is looking to extend this relationship for the foreseeable future. The network has opened up a writers’ room for The Kings‘ new drama series, Cupertino. The network has ordered scripts for twelve episodes, and if everything works out well, Cupertino will be on the network’s schedule in the 2026-2027 TV season. Much about the show is unknown, but it is described as “a David vs. Goliath legal show set in Silicon Valley.” The Kings will executive produce alongside Liz Glotzer.

The Kings‘ relationship with CBS started with the drama series The Good Wife, which aired from 2009 to 2016. The legal drama starred Juliana Margulies, Matt Czury, and Josh Charles, among others. The couple returned for the spinoff The Good Fight, which aired on CBS from 2017 to 2022. The Good Wife‘s universe continued in their 2024 series, Elsbeth, starring Carrie Preston. In the interim, The Kings created other shows like Your Honor and Evil for CBS Studios, which were broadcast on other networks. Their other shows include In Justice, BrainDead, The Bite, and Happy Face.

Cupertino marks CBS‘s second series set for the 2026-2027 TV Season. It will be joined by the Matthew Gray Gubler-led Einstein. The Criminal Minds alum stars as Lew Einstein. Brilliant but directionless, the great-grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law, and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve the most puzzling cases.

‘Elsbeth’ Reunites with Her Biggest Takedowns in the Season 2 Finale

In the season finale airing tonight, May 8, Elsbeth is domiciled with some of the people she took down over the past few years. “Elsbeth finds herself in prison with some of the same high-class criminals she put away. When one of them is stabbed to death, Elsbeth sets out to find the killer’s killer, while her colleagues back at the precinct fight to get her released,” teases the logline for the season finale, “Ramen Holiday.” The star-studded lineup of returning stars includes Stephen Moyer, Retta, Gina Gershon, Elizabeth Lail, Arian Moayed, André De Shields, Alyssa Milano, and Mary-Louise Parker. The episode also features a musical number tribute to Chicago’s iconic “Cell Block Tango.”
