Ted (Seth MacFarlane) just doesn’t know when to quit! Peacock has announced that an animated series based on the unpredictable bear created by Seth MacFarlane is officially in development. The announcement comes almost a year after the live-action Ted television series was renewed for a second season by the streaming platform. In order to share the news with the public, Peacock posted a video featuring several stars recording their lines for the animated story. Judging by the actors who appear in the video, it could be safe to assume that the Ted animated show will take place within the timeline of the movies.
The first Ted movie introduced the bear as a creature who was brought to life thanks to John’s (Mark Wahlberg) insecurities and fears as a child. While it was adorable to see a child having a best friend to care for him, things changed radically when the pair grew up. Ted was more than ready to indulge in John’s negative behaviors and vices. Nevertheless, audiences have been entertained for more than a decade thanks to Ted’s unpredictable humor and honest feelings. The upcoming Ted animated series will reunite audiences with these versions of the beloved characters after ten years.
Amanda Seyfried was also seen in the announcement video for the Ted animated series. The Mamma Mia! star portrayed Sam Jackson in Ted 2. When John’s new love interest was introduced, she was made fun of and admired due to how her name sounded similar to Samuel L. Jackson‘s. Audiences saw John and Sam fall in love a decade ago. The upcoming animated series could provide an insight regarding where the relationship is now.
The World of ‘Ted’ Expands
The upcoming Ted animated series is a direct response to the success of the live-action prequel show. Max Burkholder stars as a younger version of John in the comedy that features the return of Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted. Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes and Giorgia Whigham are also a part of the series’ main cast. The prequel allows the viewers to understand why the adorable John and Ted grew up to become dysfunctional adults. Peacock hasn’t revealed when the second season of Ted will be available for streaming. In the meantime, audiences will have to wait and see which Ted streaming project will premiere first.
A release date for the Ted animated series hasn’t been announced by Peacock.
