‘Wild Things’: Andrew Garfield, Jude Law Confirmed to Play Iconic Magic Duo in New Apple TV+ Series!!

In a swift, sleight-of-hand movement, Apple TV+ announced today that a new limited series titled Wild Things is in the works. The show will star Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Jude Law (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew) as two of history’s most iconic magicians who are tasked with a mission that will change their careers forever. The series starts production this fall.

We’re yet to find out the tone of Wild Things, but both Garfield and Law have shown talent to navigate between drama and comedy on several occasions. We do know that, in the real-life story, both showman-magicians — Siegfried, played by Law, and Roy, played by Garfield — are considered two of the best in the business. Their challenge will be a big one: transforming Las Vegas, which earned the nickname “Sin City,” into a family-friendly destination. This means putting together illusionist shows that appeal to kids, but also pushing the concept of illusion versus reality to the very extreme to make larger-than-life shows that draw in people from all over the country.

The problem of pushing their friendly rivalry to the limit is that soon tragedy strikes, and their last show in Vegas is surrounded by mystery. Wild Things will be written, showrun, and executive produced by six-time Emmy Award nominee John Hoffman, who is also the co-creator and showrunner of the hit comedy/mystery series Only Murders in the Building. Brian Grazer will also serve as an executive producer. Additional cast members are yet to be announced by Apple TV+.

What Is ‘Wild Things’ Based On?

The new series is based on a popular Apple Original podcast titled Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy. It told the real-life stories of the Vegas magicians and the series of events that led to a dangerous attack on one of them. The duo was known for working with white lions and tigers. Together, Siegfried and Roy did over 30,000 shows across their careers. Apple quickly started to work on an adaptation once the podcast became highly popular in early 2022.

Wild Things will be directed by Matt Shakman, who will be fresh out of the Marvel haze after directing the highly anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps. He will share directing duties with Hoffman. The episodes will be an hour long, and Shakman, Hoffman, Garfield, and Law are all executive producers on the series. Apple TV+ is yet to reveal a release date for Wild Things, but with production starting this fall, a 2026 release window wouldn’t be unlikely.
