Filming for the upcoming Monsterverse movie Godzilla x Kong: Supernova has already begun, and a first glimpse of the upcoming feature was seen in public when a city street was transformed into a disaster zone set in London. Over on social media, a road in Brisbane, Australia, was closed off for filming, which featured some of the film’s stars, a lot of extras, and plenty of rubble and emergency vehicles. Videos of the film set circulated across social media, where firetrucks, military vans, and police vehicles were scattered across the street. According to Queensland news outlet Courier Mail via TikTok, this is day three of the film’s production, and lead actor Dan Stevens was spotted on set shooting a “high stakes” action scene in front of military personnel from a firetruck.
Queensland became a go-to filming location for many Hollywood blockbusters over the years. Some of them include Marvel‘s Thor: Ragnarok, DCU‘s Aquaman, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and Elvis, just to name a few. Previous Monsterverse films, like Godzilla x Kong: New Empire and Kong: Skull Island, were filmed in this state. Despite President Donald Trump‘s announcement to impose tariffs on films made overseas, Hollywood still has eyes on down under as the upcoming live-action Voltron movie featuring Henry Cavill was shot in Australia.
