Everything you know about Transformers and, specifically, the alliances of the Autobots and Decepticons, is about to be tested with their latest series for viewers 6 to 11, Transformers: Cyberworld — and it’s entirely free. Hasbro announced today that the new 36-episode CG-animated show will be uploaded directly to the franchise’s official YouTube channel on July 12, bringing a new video game-like twist to the never-ending battle of robots in disguise. Fan-favorite bots like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Elita-1, Megatron, and Grimlock will be thrust into the titular Cyberworld, where alliances are always shifting in the fight to claim Energon to survive. Along with the announcement of the release date came a pulse-pounding teaser highlighting the imposing challenges the Transformers will face in their mysterious new setting.
Cyberworld is based around dynamic and ever-changing stories with the bots viewers know and love as they enter new, unexplored territory. The trailer shows several Transformers flying toward this high-tech new world with a robotic voice announcing that a “new program module” has been activated. There will be several backdrops for the challenges of Cyberworld, from dense jungles where enemies can be hiding amid the thick brush to towering cityscapes where bots speed through the streets. The final shot shows that the Autobots and Decepticons aren’t alone in this world, either. A titanic, robotic silhouette appears in the glow of a red light, with the same voice from earlier counting down Optimus and company’s fight with the program. Old grudges and partnerships will mean little when survival is on the line against the terrors of Cyberworld.
Hasbro created the new Cyberworld series to tie in with the new toy set, which similarly encourages dynamic play with playsets that can transform for whatever a child’s imagination desires. Collider got the chance to share an exclusive look at the new items, including the centerpiece Scorponok Strike Battle set and Grimlock Chomp and Battle toy, back in March, ahead of Cyberworld’s big debut at the New York Toy Fair. Each toy puts cross-compatibility and easy conversion at the forefront, so the young ones can play along with the show without limits. Tamara Grindrod, Hasbro’s Global Play Leader, Action Brands, highlighted the possibilities of play for kids and their families in an official statement, saying:
“Cyberworld marks an exciting new chapter as we continue to evolve the Tranformers franchise in bold and imaginative directions. This new brand universe empowers kids and families to explore endless storytelling possibilities through both entertainment and play. We’re excited to witness how fans embrace Transformers: Cyberworld and the lasting memories they’ll create as they journey through the series.”
What Else Does the Future Hold for ‘Transformers’?
The Transformers franchise is coming off a big year in which it celebrated the 40th anniversary of when these alien robots first rolled out onto store shelves and television screens alike. To commemorate the occasion, a special short was released earlier this year as a silly and sweet tribute to the generations of toys that have defined childhoods and enticed collectors since then. 2024 also saw the release of Transformers One, which was hailed as one of the best depictions of the bots to date, with its emotional story of Optimus Prime and Megatron’s journey from brothers to mortal enemies. However, it failed to make a real splash at the box office, leaving the franchise up in the air for now. After the live-action Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in 2023, franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed their next appearance on the big-screen will be a crossover with G.I. Joe, but there’s still much to hash out before that happens.
In the meantime, Transformers: Cyberworld debuts its first five-minute episodes for free on the Transformers YouTube channel on July 12, with new installments rolling out into Summer 2026. Check out the first images above and see the official teaser below.
