The upcoming Carrie television series will mark a family reunion. Several stars who have worked with Mike Flanagan in the past have joined the cast of the highly-anticipated adaptation of one of Stephen King‘s most popular stories. The acclaimed horror filmmaker will produce the series for Amazon MGM Studios, with Summer Howell portraying the horror icon for a new generation of fans. Flanagan is known in the entertainment industry for constantly including his most trusted actors in his upcoming projects, and Carrie won’t be the exception.
Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli and Katee Sackhoff will star in the television series about a young girl who develops telekinetic abilities. Kate Siegel is Flanagan‘s wife, and the talented actress has worked with her spouse in The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and the rest of the television titles the director has produced for Netflix. Kohli has also appeared in these stories that have turned out to be a massive success for the streaming platform.
Crystal Balint and Danielle Klaudt have also joined the cast of Carrie. Balint starred as Morella User in The Fall of the House of Usher, the Edgar Allan Poe adaptation that followed a wealthy family that was apparently struck by a curse. Klaudt appeared in the same series as the assistant to Tamerlane Usher (Samantha Sloyan). The roles all these actors will be portraying on the screen remain under wraps, with Mike Flanagan attempting to surprise audiences with his take on Carrie.
A Horror Classic Comes Back to Life
The It movies and their upcoming spinoff, Welcome to Derry, have introduced a new generation of audiences to Stephen King‘s work. But after hanging out with Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) for a while, viewers will come face to face with the scariest girl in Chamberlain, Maine. Tahmoh Penikett and Heather Graham have also been cast in Carrie. More than fifty years after the novel was published, Carrie will come back to haunt anyone brave enough to become yet another witness to her story.
The cast of Carrie will also include Matthew Lillard. The Scooby-Doo actor is in the process of becoming a modern horror actor, after working on both the Scream and Five Nights at Freddy‘s film franchises. Carrie will ensure that Lillard consolidates his place as one of the best camp horror actors of his generation. The beloved performer will reprise his role as William Afton in this year’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
A release for Carrie hasn’t been set by Amazon MGM Studios.
