‘Masters of the Universe’: New Set Photos Reveal Fresh Look at Camila Mendes, Nicholas Galitzine!! Check It Out!!

By the power of Grayskull! Amazon MGM‘s live-action Masters of the Universe movie has finished filming, and stars Nicholas Galitzine and Camila Mendes have commemorated the occasion with Instagram posts showcasing some behind-the-scenes photos. The duo play He-Man and Teela, respectively, in the adaptation of the long-running Mattel toy franchise. It will muscle its way into theaters on June 6, 2026.

Galitzine showcased his swordfighting and boxing training for the film, which he describes as “the role of a lifetime,” as well as some shots of him and his stunt double in a salmon-colored shirt, a nod to the typically pink attire of Prince Adam, He-Man’s secret identity. He also shared a silhouetted shot of his He-Man costume; while the full look is under wraps for now, it certainly looks awfully close to the barbarian warrior’s classic ensemble. Mendes, meanwhile, called the film “one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of my career,” and stated that the film had made her into “a full-blown gym bro and converted redhead.” She also showed off hints of her costume, her auburn locks, and her “warrior woman” physique.

Who Else Stars In ‘Masters of the Universe’?

Amazon has assembled an all-star cast to populate Eternia, the far-off planet of science and sorcery that serves as the setting for Masters of the Universe. He-Man and Teela are two of the defenders of Castle Grayskull, the home and power source of the forces of good: joining them are Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba, The Wire), the Sorceress (Morena Baccarin, Deadpool), Fisto (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Atomic Blonde), Ram-Man (Jon Xue Zhang, The Brothers Son), and Adam’s parents, King Randor (James Purefoy, Rome), and Queen Marlena (Charlotte Riley, World Without End). Opposing them are the skull-faced warlock Skeletor (Jared Leto, Morbius) and his minions Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie, Community), Trap Jaw (Sam C. Wilson, Dodger), Goat Man (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Game of Thrones), and Tri-Klops (Kojo Attah, The Beekeeper). Also starring in the film is Sasheer Zamata (Agatha All Along); she’ll be playing Suzie, who is presumably not a native of Eternia.

Masters of the Universe will be helmed by Laika StudiosTravis Knight; it will be his second live-action feature after Bumblebee, another movie based on an iconic 1980s toy franchise. It will be the first big-screen venture for He-Man and company since 1987’s Masters of the Universe, which was a box office flop despite an enthusiastic performance from Frank Langella as Skeletor.

Masters of the Universe will hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
