‘Sweet Revenge’: Jason Voorhees Sets Return with New Short Film!!

We finally know when Jason Voorhees is coming back. Horror, Inc. has announced that the horror icon will return in Sweet Revenge, an upcoming short film centered around the unforgettable villain. The production company hired Mike P. Nelson in order to allow audiences to be reunited with the beloved slasher villain. Sweet Revenge will see fans diving deep into the woods, where Jason Voorhees will come back with a ton of surprises that will keep anyone who dares to watch on the edge of their seat.

Mike P. Nelson was hired to direct the next story featuring Jason Voorhees after the filmmaker made a statement thanks to V/H/S/85. The short story titled No Wake/ Ambrosia proved that the director is ready to tackle bigger things when it comes to the horror genre. Nelson‘s talent allowed Horror, Inc. to realize that the artist was the right choice for Jason Voorhees’ return. Sweet Revenge will be released through the Jason Universe YouTube channel and a site hosted by Angry Orchard Hard Cider.

Sweet Revenge will be released to celebrate forty-five years since the release of the first Friday the 13th movie. The story directed by Sean S. Cunningham changed the game for the genre by introducing the violent killer, Jason Voorhees. The success of Halloween at the box office prompted the creation of a new killer. The result turned out to be a franchise that continues to thrive decades after the character made his way to the big screen for the first time

The Legacy of ‘Friday the 13th’ Continues

Sweet Revenge will be the next step in what has become one of the biggest horror franchises of all time. The last time audiences saw Jason Voorhees in a major story was when the reboot directed by Marcus Nispel made $92 million at the global box office. Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker and Amanda Righetti starred in the project that was made with the intention of introducing Jason to a new generation of horror fans.

Throughout the years, Friday the 13th has continued to tell stories that make it clear why Jason Voorhees has become so fear and respected by the horror community. Friday the 13th Part 2 was released only a year after the first movie premiered on the big screen. The subsequent launches of Part III, The Final Chapter and A New Beginning allowed Jason to rival Michael Myers when it comes to being recognized as the ultimate slasher villain of the 80’s.
