If you’re looking for a new murder mystery to solve, Netflix has you covered. The new series, Untamed, takes us into the wilderness when a special agent for the National Parks Service (Eric Bana) investigates a murder that leads him to discovering some pretty dark secrets. The series also stars Rosemarie DeWitt, Sam Neill, Lily Santiago, Wilson Bethel, and William Smillie and will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, July 17. And now we have an official trailer for the series that sets up the ominous feel of the series.

The series is described as follows: “A character-driven mystery-thriller that follows Kyle Turner (played by Bana), a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.” It will be a 6 episode series, each episode running about an hour long, and with the new trailer, promises to keep audiences engaged in what happened to Kyle’s victim and what secrets the woods are hiding.

Bana‘s character is described as “A special agent for the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch (ISB) who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast territories.” And, in the trailer, we get to see how his investigation leads him to parts of the park that he might not want to be in. The series brings Bethel back to Netflix, where he previously starred as Benjamin Poindexter AKA Bullseye in the hit Netflix series Daredevil. The series is hitting Netflix soon but the trailer should get you excited to dive into this new kind of murder mystery!

The genre of a murder mystery is one that has captivated audiences for a long while. More recently, Netflix has been giving fans all different types of the genre to enjoy. Whether it is Rian Johnson‘s Knives Out franchise or even the Murder Mystery films starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, there is something for everyone. And while Untamed feels a bit more in the same vein as True Detective, it is still a fascinating addition to the genre for the streaming giant. And after watching this trailer, who wouldn’t be excited to see what Bana’s National Park Agent is going to give fans to enjoy?
