‘Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture’: Walton Goggins Finds New Animated Role!!

Walton Goggins has a radioactive new role to look forward to, and it’s not Fallout Season 2. According to Deadline, the beloved actor is one of several new additions to the upcoming animated film, Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture, which is currently in production from director, co-writer, and producer Michael Skolnick. He’s joined on the bizarre nuclear sci-fi comedy by fellow newcomers Ron Funches, Chris Parnell, and Shondrella Avery, all of whom will unite with the previously announced star-studded ensemble of Stephanie Beatriz, Tim Meadows, Andy Richter, Matt Walsh, Seth Green, Pamela Adlon, Lou Ferrigno, and Clare Grant.

Set in an alternate history 1962, Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture takes place in a world where, instead of Radroaches and Deathclaws, atomic weapons testing has led to the accidental creation of living, breathing, mid-century furniture. Caught in the middle of this world is Harry, a grieving 10-year-old boy who believes his father was abducted by aliens and sets out to Area 51 to prove his theory. While there, he comes across an unlikely friend in an animated office chair named Swiv, who the U.S. Army swiftly captures. The young boy devises a plan to save the ergonomic seat and other furniture folks with help from a wise old recliner and a feisty ottoman before they get wrapped up in the destructive ambitions of a power-hungry Army general named Frank Holtzman.

At this time, exactly who will be voicing what roles has yet to be announced. The sci-fi comedy will mark the animated feature debut of Skolnick, who previously made waves with his bizarrely humorous feature The Gliksmans, following an elderly couple’s hellish day trying to get to the bank. He worked with a team of writers and producers for his latest madcap adventure, including Keegan Cotton, Jordan Lewandowski, and Seth Morton. With such a star-studded cast, this will be a big step-up for the creative team, which has mostly kept to smaller indie projects until now.

‘Mutant Mid-Century Furniture’ Adds to Goggins’s Strong 2025

While 2024 was a big year for Goggins after making his debut as The Ghoul in Fallout, 2025 has been career-defining. So far, he’s been prominently featured in Invincible Season 3 as Cecil Stedman, set the internet alight with his performance opposite Aimee Lou Wood in The White Lotus Season 3, and let it all hang out as Uncle Baby Billy in one wild final season of The Righteous Gemstones. And yet, he’s still not done, with Season 2 of Fallout set to premiere this December. His fellow new additions have also kept busy, as Funches is coming off of Season 5 of Harley Quinn, while Parnell is still being heard in the ongoing eighth season of Rick and Morty, and Avery last lent her voice to last year’s Thelma the Unicorn with her old Napoleon Dynamite colleagues Jon Heder and Jared Hess.

Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture is currently in production.
