The smash-hit series Wednesday is gearing up for its second installment after a long wait since the credits rolled in the first season’s finale. Starring the brilliant Jenna Ortega in a role she was born to play, the series also introduced many in the world to the energetic talent of Emma Myers, with the Orlando-born actress also having her own starring role in an upcoming second season.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2, based on Holly Jackson‘s novel, Good Girl, Bad Blood, is edging ever closer to its release, although an exact date has yet to be announced. In anticipation, the BBC has released some first-look images of the second season, cited via Radio Times, with fans getting a glimpse of their favorite crime-solving student as well as some new faces joining the cast. This includes, as can be seen in the images below, Misia Butler of KAOS fame as Stanley Forbes, Tell Me Everything’s Eden Hambelton-Davies as Jamie, and MobLand‘s Jack Rowan as Charlie Green.

Also joining the cast are the likes of Anna Brindle, Peter Sullivan, Freddie Thorp, Lu Corfield, Stephanie Street, and Freddie England, with the story’s author and a writer on the series, Jackson, saying in a statement, “I’m so excited to welcome some new and incredibly talented actors into the AGGGTM family. Eden is sensational as our Jamie, his presence felt throughout, even though he’s missing. Misia is the perfect Stanley Forbes, delivering a truly heart-wrenching performance. And Jack as Charlie Green is simply extraordinary: I had to stand and clap at the monitors. Just you wait.”

What is ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Season 2 About?

After a first season that saw Myers‘ Pip Fitz-Amobi taking matters into her own hands after she felt the investigation into a schoolgirl’s murder wasn’t done justice by the relevant authorities, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 will ramp up the tension with an even bigger mystery ready and waiting to puzzle Pip and co. The synopsis begins, “After solving the Andie Bell case Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations.” It continues:

But as Max Hastings’s trial approaches, Connor’s brother Jamie suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.

Season 1 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is available to stream on Netflix.
