A little over a year after ABC’s Station 19, created by Stacy McKee, aired its final episode, one of its main stars has landed her first small-screen role since then. Barrett Doss is that star, and she has been tapped to appear in the upcoming Little House on the Prairie reboot from Netflix. Set in Seattle, Station 19 is the second spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy, after Private Practice, and focuses on the lives of the heroic men and women at Seattle Fire Station 19. The procedural ran from March 22, 2018, to May 30, 2024, comprising seven seasons and 105 episodes.
According to Deadline, Doss will recur as Emily Henderson, a charming woman who is great at interacting with people and handling numbers, which enables her to run the General Store. Emily kindly takes in Caleb, an orphan boy who wanders into town. The Station 19 alum was added to the Little House on the Prairie series alongside six others, including Mary Holland (Nightbitch), Michael Hough (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Kowen Cadorath (SkyMed), Thosh Collins (IT: Welcome to Derry), Maclean Fish (Shoresy), and Rebecca Amzallag (Titans).
This fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s semi-autobiographical Little House books is described as “part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale and part origin story of the American West.” Like the NBC series that ran from September 11, 1974, to March 21, 1983, it follows the Ingalls family, which will be played by Alice Halsey (Laura), Luke Bracey (Charles), Crosby Fitzgerald (Caroline), and Skywalker Hughes (Mary). Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine and CBS Studios created the Netflix reboot, which promises “a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
Who Are The New Additions to The ‘Little House on the Prairie’ Reboot?
The latest additions to Little House on the Prairie will recur in guest roles, similar to Doss. Holland will portray Jemma James, the wife of Eli James. Jemma is a confident woman who has an air of “big city” and is the town’s busybody. Hough plays Eli James, Jemma’s husband, who works for the railroad and is very supportive of the newcomers arriving in Independence. Cadorath will appear as Caleb, a skinny, prairie handsome, pre-teen orphan who doesn’t say much. Emily, who runs the General Store, takes him in and gives him a job.
Furthermore, Collins will star as Louis, White Sun’s (Alyssa Wapanatǎhk) good-natured and levelheaded cousin, while Fish plays Adam Scott, the boyish and handsome but soft character who appears as though he hasn’t had a day of hardship in his life. Lastly, Amzallag will be Lacey Aubert, a beautiful and happily widowed outcast who owns a card room and bar on the edge of town.
Little House on the Prairie has yet to announce a premiere date.
