Andrea Sachs is back! Today, Anne Hathaway (The Idea of You) took to social media to share a first look at the beloved character returning for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The highly anticipated sequel has begun production, meaning that fans are bound to get new looks for all major characters in the coming weeks. The movie is slated to debut in theaters in early 2026.
The years away from a toxic work environment and a terrible boss have certainly improved Andy’s mental health. In the first-look photo, Hathaway is keeping it 100 with a huge smile on her face – but since it may not be an official image from the movie itself, she can just look happy to be back for the sequel. In any case, we can see that Andy has learned to look her best. So, despite the terrible experience she endured in The Devil Wears Prada back in 2006, she retained something from working in the world of fashion.
The sequel officially entered production last month, so depending on how fast production is moving, we should see a teaser trailer sooner rather than later. Details of the story are still kept under wraps, though. We’re yet to see the long-term effects of the events of the first movie, and where we will find the characters 20 years later. Hathaway‘s caption for the image, however – “Andy Sachs 2025” – suggests that the character is in a much better place.
Who Is Returning For ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’?
Aside from Hathaway, Meryl Streep (Only Murders in the Building) will once again embody the ruthless Miranda Priestly, and Emily Blunt (The Fall Guy) will play Emily. Other returning cast members include Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games franchise), Tracie Thoms (9-1-1) and Tibor Feldman (Partner Track). The sequel will feature several high-profile additions to the cast, including Kenneth Branagh (Oppenheimer), Lucy Liu (Red One), Justin Theroux (Running Point), B.J. Novak (The Office), and Pauline Chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls). The movie will once again be directed by David Frankel (The Morning Show), and Aline Brosh McKenna (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) also returns to pen the screenplay.
The story will reportedly center around Miranda’s struggle to keep Runway alive in an era in which print media is not what it once was. In order to stay afloat, she will have to seek the help of her younger and former assistants, who were once bullied and mistreated by her.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 premieres in theaters on May 1, 2026. You can check out the Instagram post above.
