Daredevil fans may have succeeded in bringing back the series after it was canceled by Netflix, but leading star Charlie Cox may have just inadvertently dropped a devastating update on the future of his MCU series. Cox was recently heard speaking at Galaxy Con, in which he called Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 “the final season” of the hit Disney+ series. This certainly comes as a disappointment to fans, who were expecting several more seasons of Born Again after Season 2, which wrapped filming not long ago.
Cox also addressed the leaked set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which showed him suiting up in Daredevil’s famous black suit. He admits that Born Again Season 2 is his “favorite, for a couple of reasons.” He says that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is “badass,” but he also talks about the fact that every suit that’s been in the show thus far has been represented in Marvel Comics, dating back to the red and gold suit he wears in She-Hulk.
Cox says that there’s something else in the second and allegedly final season of Daredevil: Born Again that is different from anything done before in the comics, which is undeniably exciting for MCU fans. He, of course, declined to go into details about what exactly this new suit or moment is going to be, but with it drawing from another inspiration other than the comics, it makes it nearly impossible to guess what he could be talking about. In addition to a new black suit in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, fans can also look forward to seeing Krysten Ritter reprise her role as Jessica Jones.
The First ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Spin-Off Has Already Wrapped Filming
Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 saw Jon Bernthal return to Marvel and reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and he was such a fan-favorite that it warranted a Punisher spin-off project. The Special Presentation/Spotlight project kicked off filming a few weeks ago and wrapped just last week, and it’s even eyeing a 2026 release date, likely sometime after Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Bernthal is also expected to reprise his role as Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which will also return Deborah Ann Woll and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will premiere next year.
