Paramount+ has dropped the first teaser for Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman, and if Season 1 was about establishing the oil-soaked world of West Texas, this new footage promises an even bigger, louder, and messier return when the series premieres November 16. The teaser wastes no time setting the tone after the death of Jon Hamm‘s Monty Miller. His wife, Cami (Demi Moore) is stepping into the power vacuum left by the oil tycoon and she’s in no mood to take any sh*t from anyone. It’s Sheridan’s way of saying this show isn’t about slowing down — it’s about doubling the stakes.
And then there’s the introduction of Sam Elliott. The 1883 and Tombstone legend officially joins the cast the father of Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), instantly bringing that gravitas only Elliott can, with his voice that sounds like he eats rocks for breakfast. The brief shots of him make it clear his presence will ripple through the entire season, and it feels like we’re moving up a gear or two.
Thornton’s Tommy remains the centerpiece though, still caught between the roughneck reality of drilling rigs and the corporate boardrooms where fortunes and families rise and fall. The teaser flashes between wide-open oil fields, sweaty face-offs in the dirt, and glassy skyscrapers where billion-dollar deals come with strings attached. Sheridan’s signature mix of grit and melodrama is alive and well. And of course, the kids are alright too. We see Jacob Lofland’s Cooper and Michelle Randolph’s Ainsley woven deeper into the action, each shot reminding us that this isn’t just one man’s story, but a sprawling tale of a region where loyalty and ambition collide on a daily basis.
What Can We Expect From ‘Landman’ Season 2?
Season 1 ended with a quiet but potent moment between Tommy’s son Cooper and Ariana (Paulina Chavez), the widow of his late crew member. Whether it was grief, survival, or something real between them is still a question — but Wallace says the bond is deep. “There’s obviously a deep love and a deep connection there, for how short of a time these two have known each other,” he says. “But whether or not they can last, whether or not they can grow beyond those circumstances is still to be seen.” In true Taylor Sheridan fashion, that means expect pain before passion — and probably both at once. Their romance, if it grows, will unfold against a backdrop of oilfield rivalries, family dynamics, and ever-looming danger.
