‘Talamasca: The Secret Order’ Trailer Previews the New Spy-Styled Entry into Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe!! Check It Out!!

This month, the Anne Rice universe is expanding and AMC decided to tease it with a brand-new trailer. Talamasca: The Secret Order centers around a secretive agency that tracks and locates supernatural creatures in order to protect humans. That’s why they keep tabs on several individuals for years, and that’s how Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton) will meet them. The six-episode series is scheduled to premiere on October 26, and you can check out the new trailer in this article.

The new trailer for Talamasca: The Secret Order makes one thing clear: you don’t need to have watched Interview with the Vampire or Mayfair Witches in order to get hooked to this one. Since the protagonist guy is also the one discovering that a whole underworld of supernatural creatures exists, Talamasca automatically becomes the perfect entry point into the universe, since you will discover details of the Anne Rice universe through his eyes. But, of course, if you’ve watched the other series you will have a trained eye to detect the nuances of the story.

Additionally, the trailer reveals that Guy’s first contact with the Talamasca has its own layers. Since he’s able to hear other people’s thoughts, this makes him a valuable asset to the agency — but are they really interested in protecting and helping him? Mystery fans will also appreciate that the series also has some investigative elements that start stacking up, The X-Files style, as Guy delves into the new world while trying to discover what the eerie entity wants from him.

‘Downton Abbey’ Fans Are Welcome in ‘Talamasca’

Downton Abbey fans will hardly miss Elizabeth McGovern, as she’s the one that spearheads the Talamasca in the series. Her character, Helen, is a huge departure from what we got used to seeing in the period series. If Cora Crowley is motherly and kind, Helen looks secretive, dangerous, and like someone who wouldn’t hesitate to slit somebody’d throat if needed. The cast also features William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Celine Buckens, Jason Schwartzman, Eric Bogosian, and Justin Kirk.
