‘High Potential’ Season 2 Trailer Sees the Return of Kaitlin Olson’s Genius Detective!! Check It Out!!

Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan Gillory might not be here to play games, but someone sure is in the latest trailer for Season 2 of High Potential. We’re just a few weeks away from the return of what became one of ABC’s most popular new shows of the 2024-2025 season and audiences are going to be thrilled with what they see. Not only does the teaser give us an up-close-and-personal look at where we’ll pick up with Morgan in the new season, but we also catch a glimpse at other fan-favorite characters like Daniel Sunjata’s Detective Karadec, Judy Reyes’ Selena Soto, Deniz Akdeniz’s Oz, and Javicia Leslie’s Daphne.

Set to the bassline of Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon” (because why wouldn’t it be?), the trailer picks up with Morgan prepping breakfast for her kids before heading into the office. On the way, she stumbles upon a crime scene and arrives at the station in a way that would make her It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia character proud. We, of course, see Morgan using her special set of skills to unravel many crimes, but our attention is specifically drawn to her desire to catch The Game Maker, who was previously set up to be the big bad of Season 2. Knowing that the crazed killer knows who she and her children are will keep Morgan in the fight, but her attention will be pulled elsewhere as well as she tries to track down her missing first husband, Roman. All in all, it looks like the second season will deliver on the cliffhanger moments of the Season 1 finale and then some.

As we alluded to above, the trailer also looks like it will implement more of Olson’s natural talent at making us laugh until we cry. The performance has long been a member of the knock-out cast behind FX’s hit series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which recently celebrated the arrival of its seventeenth season. While the first season of High Potential allowed Olson to showcase her comedy skills, it appears as though the writers’ room went further with it in the sophomore season.

Our Biggest Question Following the Season 2 Trailer

Today’s official trailer did a lot to flesh out the next set of episodes, even giving us a look at Steve Howey’s Jesse Wagner, who will be Morgan’s new captain. But we still have plenty of questions surrounding exactly who Mekhi Phifer will be joining the series as. The actor was announced to be joining the supporting cast back in July, but, as of right now, his spot on the series is being kept under wraps.

Check out the trailer above.
