‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ Renewed for Season 3!!

After months of speculation, the fate of Rogue Heroes has finally been decided — and fans of Steven Knights high-octane WWII series can breathe a sigh of relief. MGM+ confirmed today that the show will return for a third season, continuing its dramatized take on the formation and missions of the SAS.

The series, based on Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book, has been hailed as the most gripping WWII drama since Band of Brothers and Season 3 is promising to carry that reputation forward, thrusting audiences into the summer of 1944 as the Allied liberation of France gets underway. Once again, Paddy Mayne and his ragtag group of rogues will find themselves parachuted deep behind enemy lines, charged with disrupting the German war machine and testing the limits of their own endurance.

Jack O’Connell will reprise his role as SAS leader Paddy Mayne, joined again by Sofia Boutella as French-Algerian intelligence agent Eve Mansour and Dominic West as British Army officer Dudley Clarke. They’ll be flanked by familiar faces: Theo Barklem-Biggs, Corin Silva, Jacob Ifan, Jacob McCarthy, Stuart Campbell, Bobby Schofield, and Jack Barton return as the tight-knit team of SAS originals. There are also fresh recruits. Lorne MacFadyen (Vigil) joins as Reverend Fraser McLusky, providing spiritual and moral support to battle-scarred fighters. Nick Hargrove (Devotion), Andrew Dawson, and Jake Jarratt round out the new additions, fighting alongside French and Belgian resistance fighters in missions that grow more perilous by the day.

What Is ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ Season 3 About?

Creator Steven Knight isn’t holding back about what’s coming next:

Series three picks up as the war enters a critical phase with the allies mobilising to liberate France. Way ahead of the advancing front line the SAS are doing what they do best, creating chaos and carnage among the defending axis troops. Never has the war been so bloody and never have the stakes been so high. The Rogue heroes dare to win, but at what cost to themselves and their souls?

It’s a brutal setup — one that mirrors the real-life grit and improvisation of the SAS while pushing the series deeper into the chaos of war. Michael Wright, head of MGM+, praised the series for keeping audiences hooked:

“Rogue Heroes has gripped audiences with its smart and kinetic storytelling about the formation of the SAS. The first two seasons left us wanting to know more about this incredible band of unique, daring soldiers, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what Steven Knight and Kudos have in store for the third season.”

Karen Wilson, executive producer for Kudos, echoed that enthusiasm:

“It’s always incredibly exciting to be filming SAS Rogue Heroes, and we’re thrilled to be back for another series. I’m blown away by how Steven Knight takes the action to another level, with his scripts transporting us into the world of these remarkable characters, played by a remarkable ensemble of actors. If you thought series two was good, wait until you see what we have in store for series three.”
