‘Jumanji 4’: Dwayne Johnson Confirms November Production Start Date!!

The long-awaited return to the jungle is finally on the horizon. At a Q&A session during TIFF 2025 attended by Collider‘s Tania Hussain, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that Jumanji 3 (which is technically Jumanji 4 but we digress) the next installment in Sony’s billion-dollar adventure franchise — will begin filming this November. While fans are already buzzing about the next level of the hit series, Johnson also took time to reflect on his partnership with Kevin Hart, a bond that has fueled some of the pair’s biggest box office smashes, from Central Intelligence to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level.

Kevin and I first started connecting — and this sounds weird, but he was already famous, few folks knew who I was, and I know it may sound weird, but we didn’t need anything from each other. And then, not only did we not need anything from each other, but just sometimes, this chemical thing happens, and that’s what happened with Kevin and I,” Johnson told the crowd, before continuing:

There’s a script. Do you like it? It was called Central Intelligence. Also, I think what attracted Kevin and I together is that he’s a good guy. He’s a really just a good dude and a good human being, and that matters. And I think you know, like, whether you’re in Hollywood or not, life is crazy, and it moves so fast, a lot of noise, sometimes a lot of negativity can happen. But for me, in this world, in life, that kind of just doesn’t slow down. For any of us, it doesn’t slow down. But Kevin was a good guy, and I really wanted to work with him, and it just so happened we had great chemistry.

Naturally, Johnson couldn’t resist a jab at his longtime co-star: “Also, he’s super short, doesn’t make me look different. And then also really just trust. And when you have somebody who you trust, I think whether it’s two actors or two teachers or two athletes or two whatever, if you have somebody who you could trust, I feel like there’s nothing we can’t do.The Rock capped it all off with the words fans have been waiting for: “We are going to start shooting Jumanji 3 in November. “

How Did ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ End?

The last time audiences visited the jungle, The Next Level ended with a post-credits twist: the game world bleeding into the real one. That tease all but guaranteed the franchise wouldn’t stick to its old formula. With Johnson and Hart back at the center, the big question is whether the rest of the ensemble — Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Awkwafina, and the younger cast led by Alex Wolff — will return as well.

Directed again by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji 3 is expected to build on the high-stakes action-comedy formula while leaning into the real-world consequences teased in that cliffhanger. Johnson’s confirmation that cameras roll this November keeps Sony’s December 2026 release date firmly on track.
