Regé-Jean Page is headed back to Netflix for his next series. Don’t expect the courtly intrigue of Bridgerton…but do expect some sexy thrills. He’s set to star in Hancock Park, a new erotic thriller series set in contemporary Los Angeles. The series is currently in development, and has not yet set a release date.

The series will center around a charismatic outsider who rents the backyard guest house of a well-off Los Angeles family in the titular neighborhood of Hancock Park. Gradually, he worms his way into the family’s lives, exposing the greed and corruption behind the entire neighborhood’s facade. The series promises steamy thrills, dramatic reveals, and high drama. The premise hearkens back to 1990s thrillers like Pacific Heights, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and Unlawful Entry, in which a seemingly normal stranger befriends a couple before revealing their twisted plans for them. The series will be written by Matthew Barry, a veteran of Industry, The Guest, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Who Is Regé-Jean Page?

Page is a British actor who had roles on stage and television before making his American debut with the History Channel remake of the miniseries Roots. He subsequently had a role in the film Mortal Engines and on the TV series For the People, which was executive produced by Shonda Rhimes. His big breakout would come on the Rhimes-produced Bridgerton; he starred on the first season of the bodice-ripping romance hit as Simon Basset before departing the series for new horizons. He remained at Netflix to play the villain in the actioner The Gray Man, starring opposite Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. More recently, he had prominent roles in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Black Bag. Next year, he’s set to star alongside Halle Bailey in the romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany. He’s also developing a new adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo, which he will both star in and produce. He was also cast alongside Glen Powell in a new series inspired by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid from the Russo Brothers, but there have been no updates on that series in several years.

In addition to starring, Page will also executive produce Hancock Park via his production company A Mighty Stranger. It will also be executive produced by A Mighty Stranger’s Emily Brown (Funny You Should Ask), and Drew Comins (Yellowjackets).

Hancock Park is in development at Netflix; no release date has yet been announced.
