‘Landman’ Renewed for Season 3!!

Paramount+ is all-in on Texas oil and Taylor Sheridan. Today, the streamer officially renewed Landman for Season 3, just weeks after Season 2 hit the viewership charts and delivered the biggest original-series premiere in the platform’s history. Debuting November 16, Season 2 has been a juggernaut. Preliminary Nielsen data forecasts the show will rank as a top three original series the week of November 17, then surge to top two status the week of November 24 — a rare leap in a crowded television landscape.

But the real milestone? The premiere’s first 48 hours drew more than 9.2 million streaming views, marking a staggering 262% increase over Season 1’s launch. With numbers like that, the Sheridan-created drama now stands as Paramount+’s most-watched premiere ever for any original series.

Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton leads the drama as Tommy Norris, with Oscar nominees Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott landing heavyweight blows in a supporting cast also complemented by Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

What’s Happening on ‘Landman’ Season 2?

This year’s arc tightens the screws on Thornton’s Tommy Norris, as rising oil levels bring buried secrets bubbling to the surface. Pressures from M-Tex Oil, Moore’s fierce Cami Miller, and family shadows close in — pushing Tommy toward a breaking point in a world where survival isn’t noble, it’s brutal. Garcia, who appeared in the Season 1 finale in a cameo role, has come to the fore and recently told Collider of his joy at having a part written specifically for him by the master that is Sheridan.

“He has people in mind, or he writes a character, and he says, “I want that actress or that actor.” I know he wrote the part for me. It wasn’t written when we met. He said, “I have an idea about this part. I want to write it for you.” And then you go, “Of course.” That’s a blessing that you have someone like that who wants to write for you. So, for me, it was very simple. I said, “I’m all in. Tell me when to start.”
