Sherlock Holmes is officially back — but with a bit of a twist. Prime Video has released the first trailer for Young Sherlock, Guy Ritchie’s long-anticipated return to the world of gritty, underground Victorian London and the boy wonder himself, Sherlock Holmes, and it’s exactly the kind of kinetic, stylish chaos you’d expect. The eight-episode series premieres March 4, 2026, with all episodes dropping at once on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After) as a disgraced, green, inexperienced and emotionally volatile young Sherlock Holmes, the series reimagines the legendary detective long before Baker Street, pipe-smoking, or polished genius. So basically it’s angry boy genius who finds his way but with rough edges. Sounds like fun. The logline is as follows:
With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days. Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.
If you loved the speed, attitude, and punch of Ritchie’s Robert Downey Jr. movies, this feels very much cut from the same cloth — just younger, meaner, and more chaotic.
