‘One Piece’ Season 2 Set for Theatrical Release!!

It won’t be long until the second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece debuts on Netflix, and the streaming giant will be hosting a special event to kick off the show’s return. This series is based on Eiichiro Oda‘s Japanese manga of the same name, and Season 2 will continue where the Straw Hats left off as they embark on the Grand Line. Not only will One Piece Season 2 feature the return of established characters, like Iñaki Godoy‘s Monkey D. Luffy, but it will also add new faces in this action-adventure, including a new Straw Hat crew member.

Netflix greenlit Season 2 of One Piece two weeks after Season 1 finished airing, and fans had to wait three years for the show’s return. Since then, Netflix has released teasers and casting announcements throughout the show’s production, while Oda has confirmed that he is also involved in Season 2. One Piece Season 2 will have the Straw Hat pirates enter the Grand Line, as they face off new creatures big and small, explore new locations, and meet new pirates.

To celebrate the release of Season 2, Netflix has announced it will host a theatrical fan event, showing the first two episodes of One Piece Season 2 on the big screen in 200 theaters across the U.S., Canada, and Japan. Tickets go on sale tomorrow on Thursday, February 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET and will be showing in major theater chains like AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo, and Cineplex. To add more hype to this One Piece fan event, Netflix released a new trailer video on its website, featuring more Straw Hat action, teasing more emotional moments, and new outfits that our main pirate crew will be wearing.

2026 Is a Huge Year for ‘One Piece’ Fans

Netflix‘s One Piece Season 2 isn’t the only one that’s coming out in 2026. Toei Animation has announced that the One Piece anime will return this year, but under a new release format. Ever since the anime premiered in 1999, One Piece has been released in an episodic format, with each story arc comprising multiple episodes and the studio having to take hiatuses between episode releases. But once One Piece resumes broadcast in April, the anime will enter a seasonal format, limiting a year’s broadcast to a maximum of 26 episodes, split into two parts. The reason for this change was to “allow the anime to incorporate more of the source material and to follow the manga’s pacing.” This new format will begin as the anime adapts the Elbaph Arc.

One Piece Live-Action Season 2 comes out on March 10, 2026. In the meantime, you can stream all of Season 1 on Netflix.
