‘The Morning Show’ Season 5 Adds Jesse Williams to Cast!!

The home of some of the very best modern shows, from Seth Rogen‘s The Studio to the mind-bending Severance, Apple TV are also no strangers to delivering a series destined to split viewers down the middle. With a consistently positive response from critics and a more divisive reaction from viewers, The Morning Show fits perfectly into this category. Its most recent fourth season, which aired in the fall of 2025, saw complaints from fans that the once-bold #MeToo drama was turning slowly into a soap opera, although others praised its ability to bounce back from a poorer third installment.

Nevertheless, the show’s popularity on the streamer is undeniable, with faith placed in The Morning Show from higher-ups via a fifth season renewal before the fourth has even premiered. “The Morning Show has been a standout from the very start, debuting as one of the flagship series on Apple TV+,” said head of programming at Apple TV, Matt Cherniss, about the renewal, adding, “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it not only entertain but also resonate with audiences worldwide.”

Executive producers and stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will, of course, return to the UBA Network, with it previously revealed that the ever-brilliant Jeff Daniels would be joining the cast as a self-made billionaire and founder of a well-known investment firm. Daniels won’t be the only famous face joining the likes of Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, and more in Season 5, as it has been reported that former Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams will portray “Vernon, UBN’s newest Head of News, who is known as a brash pot-stirrer with a talent for grabbing and keeping an audience.”

‘The Morning Show’ Continues to Prove Popular

It might be four months since The Morning Show last debuted an episode on Apple TV, but it continues to prove popular on the streaming charts. At the time of writing, the series is the tenth most-watched show on Apple TV in the U.S., a list topped by Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and the hit comedy-drama Shrinking. On the global charts, The Morning Show also places inside the top ten, finishing as high as sixth in Venezuela and Armenia.

The Morning Show is available to stream on Apple TV.
