‘Highlander’: New BTS of the Reboot Reveals New Look at Henry Cavill!! Check It Out!!

For most fans, the first role that comes to mind when they think of Henry Cavill is Superman. He played the bulletproof Kryptonian hero for the first time in 2013’s Man of Steel, the divisive superhero flick directed by Zack Snyder. He suited up as the character only a few more times before hanging up the cape after a controversial appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s 2021 superhero film, Black Adam. However, many fans would argue that Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher is Cavill’s most famous role. He has since left the character behind to Liam Hemsworth, who took over playing The Witcher in the most recent season that premiered last year. Cavill isn’t anywhere near done picking up the sword, though, which he’ll do again when his Highlander reboot hits theaters everywhere.

Henry Cavill’s Highlander, which is a direct reboot of the popular 1986 film starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, has been in development for years now. It was subject to numerous setbacks before it began filling out its ensemble cast last year with big names like Russell Crowe and Jeremy Irons. Production on the film was scheduled to begin late last year, but when Cavill suffered an injury during training, it was pushed back to early in 2026. Cameras are now rolling on the film, as confirmed by Cavill when he shared the first-look images from behind the scenes back in January. Now, as filming for Highlander is set to enter a crucial stage, dark new set images of Cavill on set as the titular hero have surfaced online. He appears to be channeling his inner Neo (Keanu Reeves) from The Matrix with a black trench coat.

Henry Cavill’s Next Movie Officially Arrives Soon

Henry Cavill’s next movie, In The Grey, has been set for release on May 15. Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, the film co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González, and it follows a team of covert operatives who live in the shadows, but are called out into action when a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune. During Collider’s Exclusive Preview Event last month, we had the privilege to share the first official images of Cavill and Gyllenhaal in the film, which was in post-production for over two years.

Check out the new images from behind the scenes of production on Highlander.
