‘Alien’ & ‘X-Men’ to Crossover in New Marvel Series!!

X-Men fans are on top of the world right now with the looming release of X-Men ‘97 Season 2. Marvel has already confirmed that the show’s sophomore season has been pushed back a few weeks and will now premiere on July 1, but it’s worth the extra time when you’re waiting for the highest-rated Marvel show in history. Marvel fans are also waiting on pins and needles for more information regarding the MCU’s X-Men reboot film, which is expected to be released sometime after Avengers: Secret Wars. Very little is known about the film at this time, other than that Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*) is directing with a script from Beef writers Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. It’s also been reported that Marvel is eyeing younger talent for its X-Men movie over more established actors to help keep costs down.

This afternoon, though, Marvel has given X-Men fans another project to be excited about, and it’s one of the wildest collaborations ever put to paper. Marvel has officially announced a four-issue comic that will put its greatest team, the X-Men, against the most dangerous threat in sci-fi history: the Xenomorph from Alien. That’s right folks, on September 16 later this year, the first of four Alien vs X-Men comics will be released around the world, as Marvel kicks off a new crossover following the success of Alien vs. Avengers. Visionary X-Men writer Kieron Gillen is writing the new series with art from Geraldo Borges, and it will also feature story material from X-Men creator Chris Claremont. Claremont is writing a story in which the Xenomorph comes into conflict with another epic creature from Marvel canon, the Brood.

What Is Marvel’s New ‘Alien vs. X-Men’ Comic About?

In the new comic series pitting X-Men against Xenomorph, the team goes looking for a Phoenix egg, but finds something else entirely. The X-Men return to Earth with a deadly cargo, which sets off a violent battle between mutants and aliens. Kitty Pride will also face off against the Xenomorphs as she battles her greatest terror in the Alien creature and the Brood. Ryan Stegman penned the cover for Alien vs. X-Men #1, with a variant cover by Ivan Shavrin. More information about future issues of the comic will likely be made available later this year.
