‘Far Cry’: FX Series Adaptation Adds Lizzy Caplan!!

Far Cry, the popular survival video game franchise, is headed to TV, courtesy of Noah Hawley and Rob Mac. Now, the series has just added another cast member. Although no plot or character details have yet been revealed, the latest addition to the cast should excite fans of the long-running Ubisoft series.

Lizzy Caplan, the star of Mean Girls, Castle Rock, and Party Down, is headed to TV’s newest video game adaptation. She’s an Emmy nominee for her work on Showtime‘s Masters of Sex and Hulu‘s Fleishman Is in Trouble, and she’ll be joining It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Mac, who produces and stars in the new series. Far Cry, which debuted in 2004 and is now on its sixth installment, is a first-person shooter game that puts the player in a hostile environment and forces them to survive the elements and their enemies in order to achieve victory. Each game has a new plot and protagonist, and the TV series is slated to follow suit, with each new season following a different cast of characters.

What Has Lizzy Caplan Appeared in Recently?

Last year, Caplan reprised her role as criminal disguise artist Lula May in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the latest installment of the popular stage-magic heist-comedy series. She also appeared alongside Robert De Niro in the Netflix political thriller miniseries Zero Day, playing a member of Congress caught up in a cyber-conspiracy. She’s next set to star in Netflix‘s new miniseries adaptation of Ira Levin‘s The Boys From Brazil; in this tale of sinister Nazi science, she’ll star alongside Jeremy Strong, Gillian Anderson, and Daniel Brühl. She can next be seen in the horror movie Drag; she’ll star with Lucy DeVito as a pair of sisters who commit a break-and-enter that goes horribly and hideously wrong.

Mac will executive produce the series with Hawley, the FX hitmaker behind shows like Legion, Fargo, and Alien: Earth. It is also executive produced by Simon Emanuel, Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Monica Macer, Peter Calloway, John Campisi, and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
