‘You Deserve to Know’: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Stars Paul Wesley & Nina Dobrev to Reunite for New Hulu Series!!

The Vampire Diaries may have gotten a stake in the heart back in 2017, but blood still pumps through the ardor of its most avid fans. A full-on revival of the supernatural drama may not be in the offing, but the show’s cast members still speak fondly of it. Now, a new Hulu series is set to reunite one of the series’ most popular couples.

According to reports, Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev will reunite in You Deserve to Know, a new series in development at Hulu. The duo starred as good-hearted vampire Stefan Salvatore and orphaned human Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries, and their romantic entanglement provided much of the show’s drama. In the new series, they’ll play two suburban neighbors on opposite sides of a murder investigation. Based on the 2025 novel of the same name by Aggie Blum Thompson, the series will center around Gwen (Dobrev), a suburban wife and mother whose husband is tragically murdered. Can she rely on her two best friends, or will their hidden secrets shatter their bond forever?

What Have Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev Been Working on Lately?

Wesley will return as Captain James T. Kirk in the upcoming fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which will premiere on Paramount+ next month; he’ll also appear on the series’ forthcoming fifth and final season, which will see his character take command of the USS Enterprise. He’s also set to explore a slightly less strange new world on Apple TV‘s The Buccaneers; he’ll join the cast of the Edith Wharton adaptation for its third season. He’ll also star in the Joe Cole–Rita Ora action thriller He Bled Neon, which premiered at South by Southwest earlier this year. Dobrev can be seen with Russell Crowe and Aaron Paul in the new crime thriller The Get Out, which hits video-on-demand and digital this week; next, she’ll star with Tyler Hoechlin in the romance It Happened One Summer, and will star in and executive produce the erotic thriller series Night Float.

You Deserve to Know will be written by Brian Tanen (Love, Victor). He will also executive produce with Unwell’s Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre, Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan, and Thompson, the author of the novel. Kapital’s Jaiden Kaplan and Dylan Hammalian and Unwell’s Paul Kim and Kendall Boucher will co-executive produce.
