‘Apollo Has Fallen’ Trailer Teases the ‘Paris Has Fallen’ Follow-Up Series!! Check It Out!!

More than a decade after Gerard Butler first fought his way through the White House in Olympus Has Fallen, the franchise is still finding new ways to surprise us. Mike Banning may have been the face of the series for three movies, but the action has since moved beyond him and into a much larger international world, and now, the next chapter is officially on the way, although Butler is still involved.

The first trailer for the streaming spin-off, Apollo Has Fallen, has been released and it’s explosive to say the least. The series is a follow-up to the events of Paris Has Fallen, and Butler serves as an executive producer on the series but is not currently expected to appear as Banning. Instead, Ritu Arya and Tewfik Jallab return as MI6 agent Zara Taylor and former protection officer Vincent Taleb.

‘Apollo Has Fallen’ Takes the Franchise Across Europe

This newest series opens in the aftermath of a hijacking, which uncovers a grand conspiracy involving a deadly virus, the destruction of Europe and a metric ton of mercenaries, while Zara and Vincent must travel from the Libyan Coast to Madrid to deal with things.

Their central opponent is Yuri Mishkin, a mercenary leader whose plan threatens countless lives as the pair race against time to stop him. Apollo Has Fallen follows Paris Has Fallen, which debuted in 2024 and shifted the franchise away from Butler’s Secret Service agent. Created by Howard Overman, that series paired Vincent and Zara against terrorist leader Jacob Pearce, played by Sean Harris, and earned a 91% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The franchise began with Olympus Has Fallen in 2013, followed by London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen. A fourth Banning movie, Night Has Fallen, was previously announced but has remained stalled. Director Ric Roman Waugh recently suggested that he and Butler would only return if the sequel could raise the emotional stakes alongside the action. The cast of Apollo Has Fallen includes Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy) as Zara Taylor, Tewfik Jallab (Blood Coast) as Vincent Taleb, and Ana Ularu (Siberia) as Freja Karlsson.

Apollo Has Fallen is coming soon to Canal+ in France, Hulu in the United States, and Prime Video in the United Kingdom.
